Audrey Edwards. My mother from 1945 as a Heldorado Rodeo princess in Las Vegas.
Patty Edwards. Me at five years old.
Geneva Hedman. My grandmother. Grandma died June 8th, 08. She lived to be 104. I did this tribute piece for her when she was 99.
Audrey Edwards. I love old photographs and enjoy painting from them.  I did a series of nostalgia paintings for an exhibit and from this I gained valuable insight for the commissions I do today.
Joanne de Longchamps. Joanne was my mentor. She not only was a fabulous poet and artist, but an inspiration to me for continuing my portrait work. For this painting, I worked from a movie magazine with her on the cover, She was a young starlet in Hollywood. Joanne's mother, Ruth had a dance studio in Hollywood. Ruth had danced with Isadora Duncan and her troupe. Some of Ruth's students were  Lana Turner and Judy Garland.
World War 11 Pilot.. I was commissioned to do a portrait of a guys father. I did this portrait more than twenty years ago. I got a cruise for two in payment for the portrait. This guy, who I can not remember his name worked on the cruise ship. I took my mother. We had such a nice time together and she died the following year.
Jan Horton's Mother. I was commissioned to do this portrait of her beautiful mother. I had fun with the fur. I learned to paint fur when I was a fashion illustrator for Gray Reid's Department store in Reno in 1968.
J. Lawrence Edwards..
World War 11 .....Flew D-Day.... They called him Lucky Larry because every mission in flew in his plane returned.

My mother and father met in Las Vegas in 1945. They were married New Years Eve 1946. I was born on January 6, 1947.
My mother was engaged to another fellow a cowboy artist. He gave her a horse and an engagement rign. He went off to Texas on an Illustration assignment .  While he was in Texas, my Mom fell head over heals for this tall handsome guy.  Mom worked at Sears and would walk by the body shop Dad owned with Ray Bandel. These guys were young, handsome and enjoying  life right after the war.

I am pleased they found each other.
William Pennington
I finished this commission right before Christmas 2009. His wife Susanne wanted the portrait to accompany  a beautifully framed uniform. He was a very handsome young soldier.
